December, 2003

Shoff Darby Companies Inc./Steeves, Smith & Associates are pleased to announce that we have been chosen to continue as the program administrator for the National Association of Arms Shows (NAAS) General Liability Insurance Program for the 2004-2005 policy term. I trust you all received our letter explaining our merger to Shoff Darby and the relocation of our office, please take a look at our new web site www.shoffdarby.com/ShowsAndEvents.

Coverage is available to members that adhere to the safety guidelines and code of ethics of NAAS and have had a good claims history for their events.

The program is specifically designed to meet the needs of arms show producers with liability coverage limits of $1,000,000 per occurrence per show with a $2,000,000 annual policy aggregate. Coverage is provided on a per show basis with each event receiving its own individual limit of liability. Coverage is on a claims made basis, so please make sure any claims are reported to us immediately. Please note that the 04/05 term is with a different insurance carrier thus the coverage, premiums and reporting form have changed. Our agency in conjunction with NAAS has been working since July to obtain a new insurance program that would meet the membership needs in a fair and competitively priced program. We went to many insurance carriers, both inside and outside of the United States, that even remotely expressed interested in looking at this program. We received an amazing amount of declinations as the insurance industry as a whole does not want to insure gun shows. The hard work paid off and we obtained a carrier willing to make a long term commitment to NAAS with a sensible and competitive program.  In turn the membership needs to be committed and vigilant with loss control procedures at each and every show. To assist you in this mission you will receive this years safety packet in the next few weeks.

The program allows members to report and pay for their event at their convenience before each show. Payment can be made by check or Visa/MasterCard.

Those NAAS whom have already obtained coverage with us last year do not need to complete a new application simply complete the reporting form as certificates of insurance are needed. For new members joining the insurance program you will need to submit a simple application to our office for underwriting. Upon approval and acceptance of your insurance and membership application you can participate in the insurance program at any time. Information about NAAS as well as the membership application, insurance application and certificate request form can be obtained on the web site at www.naas-info.org.

Over the last 24 years our agency has specialized in all aspects of insurance for consumer, trade show managers and the event industry. We are able to accommodate the various insurance needs that each of you may have on an individual basis, such as office insurance, workers compensation, liability for other types of events as well as show cancellation insurance.  Information and quotations are as easy as a phone call away ask for Allison Steeves #1-800-840-7762 x2114.  We look forward to hearing from you!

 Sincerely,

Allison Steeves
